Why should we read the Bible over and over—for the rest of our lives?
Let me ask you something: Have you ever read the Bible from cover to cover? Don’t feel bad if you haven’t—most people haven’t.
I’m not bragging, but I’m now on my 28th or maybe 29th year through it. Why do I keep doing it? Because every time I do, it brings me back to ground zero—who I am and who God is.
Reading the Bible resets me. It aligns me with what’s right, stirs up my love for God, and helps me love others—especially those who aren’t so easy to love (and I know I’m probably not so easy to love sometimes either).
The Bible is life’s operating manual.
It’s the ultimate source of love and truth. It’s how we place God in His rightful place of authority over our lives.
And let’s not forget—this is the same God who knows every hair on your head, who raises the dead, splits seas, and created the universe. That’s no small deal.
Remember Joshua?
When the Israelites finally entered the Promised Land, Joshua gathered all the tribes and leaders. He stood before them and retold the story of God’s faithfulness—how He rescued them from slavery and guided them all the way to that moment (Joshua 24:1–27 NCV).
Why did Joshua do that? Well, he was about to die and was leaving a legacy of truth, love and help. It was his final reminder.
He reminded them, because remembering what God has done changes us. And that’s exactly what the Bible does when we read and re-read it: it transforms us.
The Bible is living. It’s breathing. It’s not just words on a page—it’s the very Word of God.
When you read it daily, it’s like a divine injection straight to your soul. It penetrates your heart, renews your mind, and shifts your identity.
You will not be the same person when you finish as you were when you began.
That’s not theory. That’s experience. I’ve lived it.
Reading Scripture is humbling. It challenges you. It convicts you. It’s a mirror that lets you see what most people avoid: the truth about yourself and who God is calling you to be.
It grows your awareness, strengthens your forgiveness, and fuels your love for others.
God gave us two priceless gifts: the first is Jesus Christ—who lived the life we couldn’t, died the death we deserved, and gave us eternal life.
The second is His Word—the Bible. And from Genesis to Revelation, it all points to Jesus. He’s in every story. Every page. Every promise.
GOD, thank You for the Bible. Thank You for Jesus. Help us fall in love with Your Word again and again. IJNIP amen ♥️
