How deeply do you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
What lords over your life? Who or what do you truly worship?
What do you turn to for salvation on a regular basis? Is it your circumstances? Your wealth? Your health? A person? Your career or identity? Is it really Jesus Christ?
We all have something or someone we rely on—so be honest, what is yours?
Not everyone believes in Jesus Christ or acknowledges who He is, but the truth remains: He is our Lord and Savior. But here’s the key—He is the Savior of those who believe, trust, follow, and love Him.
One of the most incredible aspects of Christ is this:
"God shows his great love for us in this way: Christ died for us while we were still sinners. So through Christ we will surely be saved from God’s anger, because we have been made right with God by the blood of Christ’s death.” (Romans 5:8-9 NCV)
Think about what that really means.
Christ gave His life for the very people who persecuted Him. The ones who mocked Him, spat on Him, and sentenced Him to death. What kind of love is that? Who does that?
Here’s just a glimpse of how they treated Him once He was arrested:
"The people answered, ‘He should die.’ Then the people there spat in Jesus’ face and beat him with their fists. Others slapped him. They said, ‘Prove to us that you are a prophet, you Christ! Tell us who hit you!’” (Matthew 26:66-68 NCV)
Yet, despite all of this, Christ still loved them. He still died for them. The depth of God’s love is beyond comprehension—loving even those who do not love Him. That’s who Jesus is.
So, who did Christ die for?
He died for all who believe in Him. But let’s be clear—there is a consequence for rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. If He is not our Savior, then we are not saved. We are not heaven-bound. Instead, we are left on our own, vulnerable to Satan’s grip. And that is a dangerous place to be.
Plainly put:
"The payment for sin is death. But God gives us the free gift of life forever in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23 NCV)
Who else but Jesus Christ would die for those who mocked, rejected, and despised Him? No one. Only Him.
God, thank You for this eternal gift. Thank You for a love so deep that You gave us Your Son. Strengthen our faith, help us trust in You, and teach us to live as those who love You and love others. Thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
IJNIP, Amen. ♥️
