Why Was Jesus Christ Executed?

How much do you know about Jesus Christ and His death?

Do you believe Jesus was real and also the Son of God? Did He really leave Heaven and be born of a virgin? Was his execution a tragedy or was it God’s plan all along?

In the small book of Zechariah, tucked away in his prophetic writings, it says:

“Sword, hit the shepherd. Attack the man who is my friend,” says the Lord All-Powerful. “Kill the shepherd, and the sheep will scatter, and I will punish the little ones.” (Zechariah‬ ‭13‬:‭7‬ ‭NCV‬‬)

Who was he writing about? Who was “the shepherd”?

The Shepherd was Jesus Christ. Zechariah is referring to Isaiah 53:10 stating: “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief.”

Both Isaiah and Zechariah prophesy that God will order Jesus’s death. It was God’s plan to kill Christ. Jesus was not a victim of some scheme.

It was a plan God had all along. It was a solution to a broken relationship between man and God- which started with Adam and Eve.

It was a win, a victory. Satan did not kill Jesus, God did. Man did not kill Christ, God ordained it. God was in control of every detail.

Every sin you and I have and will commit, Christ paid for at the cross. He died for the sin of those who call him Lord and Savior. Isaiah said he was beaten beyond the recognition of a man (Isaiah 52:14). He did it for anyone who believes.

Who or what is your Lord and Savior?

To have Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, all we have to do is believe who he is and accept it. Then follow and love Him to the end.

It’s more than knowing “about” him. It’s personally knowing him, and following and loving him. If Jesus is our Lord and Savior, our soul is saved from hell, and our love for God, Christ and others will grow.

As the Apostle Paul told the Corinthians “If anyone belongs to Christ, there is a new creation. The old things have gone; everything is made new!” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NCV‬‬)

If Jesus is in our life everything changes. The way we think, act, live, love, forgive and serve. We truly become a brand new person. We pray. We depend on God. We ask the Holy Spirit for help. We are brand new.

If Christ is our Lord and Savior, we thank Him a thousand times for saving our soul and allowing us to enjoy the most incredible life after this one is over. Christ restores what was once broken.

LORD, thank you, thank you, thank you for saving our soul. Thank you for providing true life, even while we finish this one on earth. You are our hope. You don’t just make life better, you are better than life. Thank you. IJNIP amen ♥️
